1. About this platform

Descoperă Botoșani is the official tourism promotion platform for Botoșani County — the website and its companion mobile app — operated by the Botoșani County Council, Piața Revoluției 1-3, Botoșani, Romania.

The platform was produced under the PROMODIGI-T project (code ROMD00410), co-funded by the European Union through the Interreg VI-A NEXT Romania – Republic of Moldova Programme.

By using the platform you accept the terms below. If you do not agree with them, please do not use it.

⚠️ The platform serves tourist information purposes only. Do not use it to submit official requests, petitions or documents to the Botoșani County Council — for those, use the institutional channels at www.cjbotosani.ro.

2. Information we may provide to third parties

In accordance with the information protection policy of the Botoșani County Council, we may provide other parties (referred to as third parties) with certain general information contained in the platform's pages or other data of the same kind, assuring you that such information will not include personally identifying information, except where this is explicitly accepted by you, or where it is necessary in order to comply with the law or judicial procedures, or to enforce these terms of use.

3. Prohibited uses

You agree not to use the platform or the services made available through it in order to:

• upload, publish or otherwise transmit any content that is unlawful, defamatory, offensive, threatening, abusive, vulgar, obscene, invades another person's privacy, incites racial or ethnic hatred or is otherwise offensive;
• intimidate, offend or harm minors in any way;
• claim to be another person or institution, including but not limited to a representative of the Botoșani County Council, or falsely state or otherwise indicate an affiliation with a particular person or institution;
• falsify identification data or otherwise manipulate it, with the aim of disguising or concealing the origin of any content transmitted through the platform;
• upload, post, distribute or otherwise transmit any content for which you do not have the legal right of transmission or distribution, under any legal system, Romanian or foreign, or which breaches contractual or fiduciary relationships;
• send unsolicited advertising through the contact form;
• perform bulk automated extraction of the platform's content (scraping) in a way that affects its operation or its availability to other visitors;
• attempt to gain unauthorised access to the administration panel, the database or the technical infrastructure.

4. Intellectual property

Texts, photographs, video material, thematic maps and graphic elements belong to the Botoșani County Council or are used with the rights holders' permission.

You may consult, print and share the information for personal, educational or tourist-information purposes, with attribution. Commercial use requires the written agreement of the Botoșani County Council.

Map data comes from OpenStreetMap and is available under the Open Database License (ODbL); contributors are credited on the map.

The European Union and Interreg logos, as well as the Botoșani County coat of arms, are used in accordance with the funding programme's visibility rules and may not be reused separately.

5. Accuracy of information

We make reasonable efforts to keep information — opening hours, prices, contact details, events — correct and up to date. It may, however, be changed by the sites' owners or by event organisers without our being informed.

⚠️ We recommend confirming important details directly with the attraction or organiser before travelling.

Trail information (durations, difficulty, routes on the map) is indicative. Travelling on the ground is at your own risk; please assess weather conditions, road conditions, your equipment and your own fitness. The Botoșani County Council is not liable for incidents occurring during travel.

6. Links to other websites

The platform may contain links to pages operated by third parties (accommodation, restaurants, museums, event organisers). We do not control their content and are not responsible for it. Following such a link means leaving our platform and entering under that site's own terms and policies.

The presence of an attraction or a business on the platform is for information purposes and does not constitute a commercial endorsement by the Botoșani County Council.

7. Availability

We strive to keep the platform permanently available, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted operation. Interruptions are possible for maintenance, updates or for reasons beyond our control. We also reserve the right to modify or withdraw content and to change the platform's structure.

8. Personal data and cookies

The processing of personal data is described in the Privacy policy, and the use of cookies in the Cookie policy. You can change your cookie choice at any time via the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of every page.

9. Accessibility

The platform is developed following WCAG 2.1 level AA accessibility requirements and includes an accessibility menu available on every page. Details, known limitations and how to report a barrier: Accessibility statement.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by Romanian law. Any disputes will be settled amicably or, failing agreement, by the competent courts at the seat of the Botoșani County Council.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version in force is the one published on this page, with the date of the last update shown at the top.
